Charles Lewis Martinson

Charles Lewis Martinson, M.D.
July 28, 1935—May 4, 2010

Charles L. "Charlie" Martinson was born July 28, 1935 in Lewiston, Idaho.  He moved to Prineville, Oregon in the 8th grade and graduated from Crook County High School where he played baseball and football playing in the   Oregon Football State Championship game in 1952 as well as the Shriners All Star Game in 1953.  Charlie served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.  He attended the University of Oregon in Eugene and received his medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School, now OHSU.  Dr. Martinson did his internship and residency at Good Samaritan Hospital where he was later the Medical Director of the Dialysis Unit.  He co-founded N.W. Renal Clinic practicing his career in the field of nephrology.

Charlie had a great love of music and was an avid golfer, but his greatest pride was his family.  He especially enjoyed summers spent watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball.

In addition to his wife of 56 years Deanna Gumpert Martinson; Dr. Martinson is survived by daughter Lori and son Eric (Ruth) and grandchildren, Nick, Dustin, Seann, Willow, and Eric, Jr.  all of Beaverton, sisters Michele Benning (Adrian) and Danielle Barfield , brother Patrick McHenry all of California.
